The three women did not serve together, or even in the same war. The senior vet, World War II Navy woman Ella Gerecke, is old enough to be the mother of Vietnam medic Bonnie Ramsdell. But get any vets together and the years and particulars melt away, leaving a palapable camaraderie and, in this case, sisterhood.
