Veterans Day is always the 11th day of the 11th month. The fact that the federal holiday doesn’t always fall on a Monday — a la Memorial Day — tends to reduce its profile. But that doesn’t make it any less important, said Jeff Noble, who spent 25 years in the Army (including a year in Vietnam) as a helicopter pilot. “There’s a distinct reason for both (Memorial Day and Veterans Day),” said Noble, who helps to plan Dublin’s Veterans Day ceremony, which is set for Wednesday morning. “One is to memorialize those who died in combat; the other, to memorialize or commemorate those who served in uniform.” Nov. 11 falls on a Wednesday this year.
